THE HARVEST IS PLENTIFUL

In Luke’s Gospel we already saw Jesus call the twelve and make them his apostles or emissaries. He has spoken a lot to his disciples or students who included a larger number. In chapter ten, he appoints seventy-two others and sends them out in pairs ahead of him on his ministry tour.

He tells them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest field.”

Then Jesus sends them out to be part of the answer to their own prayer.

The harvest is still plentiful

There is still a lot of work to be done. People still need to hear good news now as much as they ever have. Sick people still need healing. Oppressed people still need freedom. Kids need someone to teach them about Jesus. Hungry people still need to eat. Lonely people still need a visit. Lost people still need help finding their way. Who is gong to do it?

Step one: ask.

Will you join us in asking God to send more workers? We need teachers and assistants in kids ministry, volunteers to walk alongside our youth, people willing to be trained and deployed in prayer ministry in our services and during the week. Please join us in asking God to send help.

Step two: go.

You can be part of the answer to your own prayer. That’s how God does partnership. Once your heart aligns with his in asking according to his will and the world’s need, you want to be part of the answer. You say, “Here I am, send me.”

The harvest is plentiful. Will you help? Email Karen@mvc.life and she can put you to work.
