EASTER MATTERS “IF” DETAILS MATTER
“Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith” 1 Cor. 15:14
We live in a world where sound bites and video clips are edited and made to say whatever someone wants them to say.  Words taken out of context can say the opposite of their intended meaning.  Sometimes it is intentional, sometimes it is simple misunderstanding.  Either way, words matter.  Take the small word “if” off of the front of the verse quoted above and look what it leaves you with. It kind of ruins Easter.
The detail of the resurrection matters more than anything else in human history. Â If Jesus died and was not raised, he was just another failed revolutionary. Â “IF” it really happened matters. Â It is not just a matter of private faith. Â It’s the ultimate question of public, human history.
This weekend I will explain as best I can why I believe this outrageous claim and why I think it matters.  If you or someone you know is unconvinced or disillusioned by the Bible, Easter Sunday would be a great week to give it another look.
