COME HOLY SPIRIT, COME!

Sunday is Pentecost, the day we commemorate God pouring out the Holy Spirit. It’s the day we became the dwelling place of God on Earth. Fire. Wind. Breath. Every language. Every class. Every nation. United into one temple for God. One body of Christ.

This year I have a special sense of expectation for this Sunday. I believe God wants to do something special this year on Pentecost.

Would you be praying expectantly between now and then for God’s Spirit to come in a powerful way? Could you come prepared to receive the blessing of God so that you can pass it on to your family and friends? Will you pray that the Mighty Wind of God would bring our nation and world together the way God did on the day of Pentecost and give us language to understand each other once again?

Come Holy Spirit! – Todd

“Then he breathed upon them and said, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit.’” John 20:22

Here’s a simple prayer inspired by John 20:22, written by Christine Sine.  I’m using it as a simple breath prayer and including you in the “we” as I pray for the church and our world between now and Sunday.

Spirit of God,

May we breathe in and hold your love within us.

May we breathe out and share it with the world.

Spirit of God,

May we breathe in and hold your peace within us.

May we breathe out and share it with the world.

Spirit of God,

May we breathe in and hold your life within us.

May we breathe out and share it with the world.
