As a church, we have decided that we’re going to take God’s invitation into prayer and presence this season. It’s risky. It’s meaningful. It’s beautiful to God. It’s the harder road, but the road to God’s best. The one that will lead us to the places of depth and impact that can only happen when we are open to God’s presence with us. We’ve spent the last few weeks focusing on prayer, but what does it mean to seek God’s presence? What does it mean that His presence, His Spirit, is with us and in us?
For some, what comes to mind when they think about Holy Spirit is “crazy” Christians, outbursts of wild behavior, or maybe even moments of insensitivity that have caused harm and wounding. For others, they might think of Holy Spirit as being for the “extra spiritual” Christians. It’s great for some, but not needed by all.
While there is mystery with God’s presence, there are also some tangibles that God has given us in Scripture so that we can learn to say yes to the invitation of Holy Spirit every day of our lives. We can’t wait to seek His presence together this weekend!
