KEEP YOUR EYES ON JESUS

Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we’re in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed—that exhilarating finish in and with God—he could put up with anything along the way: Cross, shame, whatever. And now he’s there, in the place of honor, right alongside God. When you find yourselves flagging in your faith, go over that story again, item by item, that long litany of hostility he plowed through. That will shoot adrenaline into your souls! Hebrews 12:2-3 MSG

The secret to endurance in this marathon through all the trials of life and death is to keep your eyes on Jesus.

News. Netflix. Apple. Amazon. Hulu. YouTube. Facebook. Instagram. Tic-Tok. Email. Blogs. Podcasts. Zoom meetings. FaceTime. Skype. Marco Polo. With so many things vying for our attention, how do you keep your eyes on Jesus?

Read through the last chapters of John’s gospel with me

I recorded a special, holy-week edition of my podcast, The Todd Rod God Pod. Listen and read along each day to meditate on the beauty of our Lord. Search “Todd Rod God Pod” wherever you get your podcasts or get it direct HERE.

Go through Unforsaken: a stations of the cross devotional

I have really been enjoying this series of devotional reflections by my spiritual director and counselor, Dr. Bill Gaultiere. Using art, music, readings and prayers, you can experience a bit of tradition with a lot of meaning. Get it here.

Binge watch the Chosen

I have finally gotten around to watching season one of The Chosen. It’s a well done, historically and theologically accurate, but imaginative exploration of the Jesus story. Don’t watch expecting the Bible on film. Enjoy a beautiful and imaginative meditation on Jesus and his disciples that reads between the lines, and does it really well! Watch free on YouTube or download the free App.

Join us online for Good Friday

The Kids Ministry is sending out a video you can watch and activities to do on Good Friday with your kids. Then after they go to bed, join us for a more adult oriented Good Friday communion service at 8 PM. Watch and Subscribe on our YouTube Channel.

Share sunrise all day on Easter with friends and family

A really special sunrise service will premiere at 6:45 AM on YouTube and you can watch it and share it all day long with family and friends around the world. I will be watching with my brothers’ families in Sweden and the Bahamas. It will replay live at our normal 8:45 and 10:45 AM service times with staff hosting live chat as well. On YouTube or MVC.LIFE

There are a lot of ways you could spend holy week, but none as holy or helpful as turning your attention to the courageous love of God on display in Jesus.

Enamored with Him,

Todd
