WALKING WITH GOD

“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”
Matthew 11:28-30 MSG
God reminded me through Jonathan’s message that his invitation has never been for me to come work for him, but to work and walk WITH him. At the same time he reminded me of this passage from the message where Jesus gives this invitation. Four times Jesus says “with me”. I get the point. It’s not something he does FOR me or wants FROM me. It’s not something I do FOR him or learn FROM him. It’s something I do WITH him. That is, my whole life. But I practice in these “Get away with me” moments he invites me into. Make some time to get away with Jesus.
