THERE IS A GOD WHO SPEAKS
There is a God who speaks, has spoken, and is still speaking.
He speaks through creation. He spoke in history. And he continues to speak through his Spirit to his children. But are you hearing him? How can you hear what God is saying? What is the key to interpreting what we see in creation and what we read in the Bible? How can we learn to hear the voice of the Spirit?
On September 29th I am starting a new series to help you hear God for yourself. We will use the Gospel according to Mark as our text for this series and for the small groups that will go along with it. Each Sunday, I will teach you how to better read the Bible with the help of some videos from the Bible Project. We will practice with a passage from Mark’s version of the Good News.
PRACTICE HEARING GOD WHO SPEAKS
Then our groups will practice the simplest possible Bible Study method that anyone can do. You can use it to read the Bible on your own, with groups and even with your kids. The tools you learn in this series will serve you for a lifetime of Bible reading and learning.
The goal in all of this is not just reading, but learning to hear the God who speaks. God is always speaking in nature, in scripture and by his Spirit. But hearing requires listening and obeying. For that, we can all use a bit of practice.
FIND A GOD WHO SPEAKS GROUP
If you haven’t found a group yet, you can sign up HERE or start your own. We even have journals with the ESV text of the Gospel according to Mark that you can purchase for $5 and use throughout the series, in your groups and for your own study. Contact Traci@mvc.life for more info or check out this video tutorial we made about how easy it is to lead one of these groups.
